Hello everybody,
I’ve tried almost everything, so I decided to create new topic in Ubuntu Mate official forum, maybe someone from dev’s could help.
The issue is: I’m using 17.10 Ubuntu Mate, but the same affects previous LTS 16.04 and also 17.04 versions.
My hibernation works through command line (“hibernate”, “pm-hibernate”) perfectly, suspend also works flawlessly even using lid-switch. The problem I’m struggling with is hibernate menu button doesn’t give hibernate action (I this case I decided to change settings to try hibernate through lid-switch but it also doesn’t work).
Summarizing: I can hibernate ONLY through command line.
Questions:
*** Do you know how to change, investigate power button actions (Shut down -> Hibernate) to be sure that it’s working in the same way as terminal command?
*** Do you think it can be affected by lack of authorizations issue (I suspect because of additional lid-switch hibernate action issue).
Thank you for any help on this case. As mentioned, I’ve tried many solutions including dconf-settings and /etc/systemd/logind.conf modifications, GRUB initial config change. Buttons for suspend and hibernate are visible in power menu, but only suspend works (when I click on hibernate if give me only blank screen and user account session lock, when I enter password and unlock session nothing else happen).
Edit: I’m using X1 Carbon 5th, SSD disk has been moved from T430, disk mapping issues solved already (as mentioned - command line hibernation works).
