Any native alternatives to GSconnect or KDEconnect for Ubuntu Mate 19.04

is there any native alternative to GSconnect or KDEconnect out there for Ubuntu Mate 19.04?

There is not a native MATE equivalent to GSconnect or KDEconnect.

KDE Connect Indicator is in the Software Boutique to allow KDE Connect to be more usable in Ubuntu MATE

It relies on a 3rd-party repo (managed by WebUpd8), though, that has not been updated to Cosmic or Disco. It can be used beyond Ubuntu MATE 18.04 but the repo address has to be changed manually to "bionic" after having been added.

I just checked and confirmed that it installs without issues on 19.04 via the Software Boutique and is currently set to use ppa:flexiondotorg/indicator-kdeconnect

Oh, good to know. So it's been added to Wimpy's PPA in 19.04. I hadn't checked (just that the one from WebUpd8 was still outdated), I'll update my sources, thanks.

Thanks alot for the reply. I searched in Software Boutique and it's there. But how do I found out it's dependencies please. As I am trying to stay away from KDE shell and other KDE related software.

I did search for kdeconnect in Synaptic before posting the question, and it displayed a long list of dependencies required.

Also on the subject of dependencies: In general, how do I find out about it for software that is NOT installed yet. Because Synaptic did display a list, while this command in terminal:

apt-cache depends kdeconenct

displayed this error:

E: No packages found

There is a typo in your command kdeconenct needs to read kdeconnect

You should then see this output:

apt-cache depends kdeconnect

Aghhh thanks alot. Okay, so I found out dependencies for kdeconnect indicator.

And just to be extra clear, is this almost like installing KDE?

I'm trying to figure out that how many things will keep running in background just because I can see few messages from my Android phone.
