My understanding is that the UM 24.04 default greeter is "Arctica greeter", not "Plymouth greeter".
Maybe that is what needs to be examined in detail.

I also "poked" the submitter of a problem report for Arctica greeter on GitHub. However, Ubuntu Launchpad doesn't have a "downstream" report of that same bug.
