Autostart applications don't save

I'm trying to get an application to autostart, however any changes I make to the startup settings get reset on reboot. They just don't appear to be saved. I've done a fresh install with no success, but nothing I've tried seems to get those autostart settings to stick,

Any thoughts?

What version of Ubuntu Mate are you running?
What is this running on?
Is this occurring with any other applications ? (I'm assuming this is related to your dropbox thread)
Can you give us the exact steps you are doing when trying to make the autostart application?

I'm running Ubuntu MATE 19.10. Any and all applications fail to save changes in the startup menu. This is after a fresh install. I try and make any changes to the auto-start settings and they are completely reset on reboot.

I'm trying to replicate this issue and am not seeing this occur.

Can I get a screenshot of the completed Add Startup Program window? Also can you give us the exact command and full path of the item you are trying to autostart.

Ah ha. I worked it out. It was a simple permissions issue. I just needed to set the permissions of the autostart config folder and I was good to go.

Thanks for the assistance. It really helped me isolate the problem.
