Could someone tell me please when Mate18.04LTS will be available as an upgrade in Australia? I’ve downloaded the .iso but would prefer to use the inbuilt Software Updater. Thank you.
I have asked this question and it’s Not only in Australia, but world wide.
You will see it in the software updater in July or August.

(personally i will wait August/appear-in-the-software-updater for a safer upgrade)
You can’t upgrade directly from 16.04 to 18.04 at this moment.
you can do it but in steps through intermediary release like 17.04 /17.10
Go in “software updates” and enable from “Updates” tab on “Notify me …” select “For any new version…” then close and go in terminal and apply “update” and “upgrade” and after “do-release-upgrade”, and repeat the step until you are in 18.04.
Search for internet the process in more detail, if you do not understand what I say above.
