I do not use backup monitor.

Can I uncheck the box that starts the service ?

You can find it in the MATE Control panel under “Startup applications”.

I wanted to know if I could disable the service for Backup Monitor since I do not use it?

Sure you can. I don’t use it so I unchecked it as well.

I go a step further and completely uninstall Deja Dup (Backups) (deja-dup) as I don’t use it either.

sudo apt remove deja-dup

What name do I look for to uninstall Backups ?

Package manager shows a backuppc and backup manager.

Update:

When I uninstalled Deja Dup, the menu entry for Backups disappeared. :slight_smile:
