Best Browsers for a Raspberry Pi 3B

Which browser for Ubuntu MATE is the fastest and the least resource-hogging?
So far, I've tried:

  • Chromium
  • Firefox ESR and Normal Firefox
  • Midori
  • Epiphany

Chromium is a HUGE hogger and hardly works. Firefox ESR is okay but gets slow when it loads GitHub or Canvas. The normal firefox crashes whenever I try to sign in to sync data, which is annoying. Midori and Epiphany aren't very big resource hoggers, but they tend to make the CPU temperature skyrocket of 10+ minutes of use.

Which is my best option? I'm on a Pi 3B with 1GB of RAM and it's hard to do things when browsers freeze up the pi forcing me to unplug, or too slow that makes it overheat easily.

Some years ago I used Min (https://minbrowser.org) on my netbook. Very lightweight and fast, but one has to get used to its minimalistic UI. If it works for ARM, it's definitely worth a try.

Sadly, it only works for amd64. Is there a build of it for armhf?

EDIT: I found a version for armhf of Min's GitHub for armhf. It works!

Try the PaleMoon browser. It has both armhf and arm64 versions.

A new browser called Flow is being developed for RasPi:
