Bitcoin Core on Mate doesn´t start

HI!

I´m running the latest Mate on my Notebook.
I installed Bitcoin core via snap - it shows up in the tool bar, but on click nothing happens.

What´s wrong here?
Thanks a lot!

Thanks a lot.

I tried via terminal with/without sudo - nothing happens.
Maybe someone can test this out.

Here are my detailed specs:
Version 24.04.1 LTS (Noble Numbat) 64-bit
Kernel Linux 6.8.0-109048-tuxedo x86_64
MATE 1.26.2

Thanks a lot!

Hi, @jumping_broccoli

I don't use "Bitcoin Core" - https://bitcoin.org/en/bitcoin-core/ - but I've just tried to install the "snap" of "Bitcoin Core" in an Ubuntu MATE 24.04.1 LTS ("Noble Numbat") VirtualBox VM (Virtual Machine) and then I ran "Bitcoin Core" (by clicking on the icon that becomes available in the "Office" section/category of programs in Ubuntu Mate) and it worked. The only issue is that, at the first time I clicked on the "Bitcoin Core" icon, the "Welcome" window takes about 20 seconds to appear.

So, to install "Bitcoin Core", I executed the following command in a "terminal" window:

$ sudo snap install bitcoin-core

After the installation completed, the following success message appeared under that command:

bitcoin-core 27.1 from Bitcoin Core installed

At that point, I had the "Bitcoin Core" program available in the "Office" section in the "Ubuntu MATE Menu", as I show in the following screenshot:

After I click that "Bitcoin Core" icon in the "Office" section, nothing seems to happen for about 20 seconds and then the "Welcome" window appears, as I show in the following screenshot:

I hope this helps

Hi ricmaques!

Thanks a lot for you effort for installing bitcoin.
It´s very interesting - I did it the same way, installation works, I find it in the menu in the "Internet" section, but on click nothing happens.

I clicked it several times and let it load, but nothing happens.
Very interesting.
