Bluetooth running but not working

I receive the "No bluetooth found, plug in a dongle," message every time I go to the bluetooth window in settings, but when I ran systemctl status bluetooth. It says bluetooth is running yet it detects no devices nor has the bluetooth icon showed up in the tray, the bluetooth manager doesn't work either.
What am I doing wrong here?

Evidently no one knows. I have the same issue.

It would be helpful to list the brand and model of your bluetooth dongle.

It is best to do some research before buying a bluetooth dongle to make sure they are supported out of the box. I can't remember the brand but I bought one from Amazon that worked out of the box years ago when I had a laptop that did not have bluetooth.
Here are recommended dongles for linux.
