I have been running BOINC for months now fine, but needed to re-install my OS for other reasons. I added BOINC, and it installed fine, and adds my setiathome credentials fine, but seems to refuse to download any work units. meanwhile a Windows VM I have running, runs the latest Windows version fine. Are there hidden files outside of my /home directory which need to be deleted for a clean re-install? Thanks.
Also if I run the UFW firewall, should I add in ports 80 & 443 in order to allow BOINC to work properly?
BOINC uses ports 80 and 443. Also, check the Event Log, sometimes it takes a while to get more Work Units. Data files are in /var/lib/boinc-client/ Not sure where they are in windows. I use UM 16.04

Hi @Richard_Thornton,
you should also check your home folder for any hidden file relating to the app, it might have a title something like the following (Press Ctrl + h to show hidden files in home!):
.boinc
The above is an example as I don’t know what the hidden folder might be called otherwise?.
Everything is working now with BOINC and I have the ufw firewall running allowing ports 80 & 443 in. I think the issue was on the setiathome side, but they are now shipping work units and my firewall settings now seem corrected.
