Brightness settings reset on resume

Hey there!

i’m using Ubuntu Mate 17.10, with kernel 4.15 on a macbook pro 11,2 (2015 retina with intel iris pro)
Anyway, everytime i wake my laptop (or reboot), the brightness level from monitor and keyboard backlight goes straight to 100%. I don’t mind during the day, but at night its kind of annoying.

I tried a suggestion i found googling: disabling the default power manager, and installing XFCE power manager.
Well, that solved the keyboard backlight going to max. But the monitor still annoys me.

Sorry if my english is not good enough, and thanks for all the support you can give me.
Cheers!

I think I had the same problem with my Mac, but it went away when I turned off "Dim display when idle". Of course you loose this dimming feature, but I didn't mind the trade-off.

The checkbox is at the bottom of Power Management Preferences in both AC and Battery tabs:

Your English is great btw!

Hey,

thanks for the reply. I decided to go crazy, and installed mate 18.04 beta 2.
screen brightness saves correctly now
However, keyboaard backlight keeps changing. on resume it goes to about 50%. any idea why?
could it be the ambient sensor that auto changes brightness or something?
