Brltty package crash shortly after every bootup

After upgrading to 16.10 I get a package crash within 30 seconds of loading the desktop every time the computer boots. The package is brltty which appears to be related to braille device support. This isn’t a package I use or need, just appears to be part of the MATE desktop or the ubuntu base.

I too am having problems with the brltty service. I’ve tried “sudo systemctl disable brltty.service” as I don’t need braille support, and I end up with the following:

Executing /lib/systemd/systemd-sysv-install disable brltty
