Broken Save As dialogue window with filesystem:https//... URL in web browser

Dear all,

Can someone please give me feedback whether he or she can reproduce the following problem?

  1. Open a PDF in Chrome or Chromium
  2. Click on Save As

Do you see a similarly broken dialogue window as I do below?

Yours,

Robert

Ubuntu 16.04.2 using Chromium (57.0.2987.98 ) I did not see that message.

Couldn’t reproduce it using Ubuntu 16.04 on Chrome (58.0.3029.81) or Chromium (57.0.2987.98)

Right Clicking > Save as, Ctrl + S, Clicking Download and Clicking Print > Save as PDF all work as expected.

Thank you for your help!

Might it be because of the URL?

filesystem:https//...

I opened a pdf on my file system, however I browsed to the file using caja, right clicked open with chromium, then onpce opened right clicked and chose save as pdf

Correct, it does work for me as well, @pfeiffep.

This generates the URL: file:///home/.

However, opening a PDF attachment directly from inside Gmail, generates the one I mention above which might cause a problem somehow…

Dear all,

I just edited the title of this topic.

The problem not only occurs with PDFs but images as well.

To me, it occurs as soon as I open a Gmail attachment in a new tab.

This generates this obscure filesystem:https//... URL in the tab which fails to properly open the Save As dialogue window.
