Hello, since a few days ago after boot sometimes caja seems to hang before displaying the icons on the desktop. After rebooting or logging off and on again it starts to work again. Any ideas on what could be causing this? I’m using ubuntu mate 16.04 amd64.

The answer to this behaviour should be on your syslog. Open it with the “Log File Viewer” application, scroll to the bottom of the syslog, and then open Caja as many times as necessary to try and cause it to hang.
Then post the last log entries here.

Hmm I checked syslog the last time this happened and didn’t find anything related to caja. What I remember now is that back when I was on 14.04 I had to add caja to startup applications (caja --no-default-window) because it stopped starting automatically after boot. I keep the same /home/ I used then, perhaps the problem is with some config file?
