Caja does not allow access to iphone photos

I am running UM 16.04 and have digikam installed. I cannot access the iphone photos in caja after connecting the 6s via USB cable with the computer. It says “The media contains digital photos.” and offers to start digikam via a button. Besides this, the pane is empty. On the iPhone I got the box “trust this computer?” and I ticked yes.

How can I directly access the pix on the phone via caja as I can do unter W10 from the explorer?

Any idea? Thanks!

Are you running caja as a superuser?

gksudo caja

Hi @Nope,

do you have the following packages installed?, install via a terminal (Ctrl + Alt + t) with the following command:

sudo apt-get install mtp-server mtp-tools

no effect. I did restart the laptop afterwards.
Any ideas?

Hallo

I’m no expert, but…
The iPhone’s drive is automatically encrypted as of iOS 7 or 8 I believe. Could this be the source of your problems?
