Hi
MATE is new for me and seems to be a good alternative for the Ubuntu evolution...
I' m impressed by all features but but but, for my PC, there is a major failure:
I' m in multiboot UEFI, W7 W10 Ubuntu Ubuntu MATE, and all the OS are using the same shared partitions for documents (NTFS).
I don' t see problems with all these OS, except with Caja in MATE: When I search for a folder in Caja, in my documents, the search takes 45 seconds before seeing a result!!!!!
I tested with Nautilus ans Nemo in MATE, the result is instantaneous!
Caja doesn't love NTFS partitions?
Thank you

I agree with you, and I install and use catfish for searching, which is much faster.

OK, but is there an explanation for such a difference between Caja and Nautilus for example?
I have no explanation, maybe someone else does?
Hi freewee,
I don't believe NTFS partitions is the problem, I think is related to files indexer. Seems Nemo and Nautilus use Tracker.
And Wimpy follow this question very closely:
There's a patch you can use if you like, and tell how works. No idea if it's properly.
Hi Tim
Thank you
I will look at this!
