"Call for testing: first set of 25.10 RCs ready!" ... including "Ubuntu MATE"! :-)

Hi everyone

I've noticed the following announcement, that was published two days ago (last Sunday, 5th October 2025), in the "ubuntu-devel" (Ubuntu Development) mailing list, by Utkarsh Gupta, from Canonical :

Hello everyone,

The first set of initial release candidate images for the 25.10
release are now building and will be available soon at:

https://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/475/builds

So please pick up your favorite flavor images, start testing, and
submit test results on the tracker. Thank you!

On behalf of the Release team,
Utkarsh Gupta

I've noticed that the "RC" (Release Candidate) for "Ubuntu MATE 25.10 (Questing Quokka)" is one of the images that have been published at https://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/475/builds and it's available at "Download links for Ubuntu MATE Desktop amd64 | Ubuntu QA" - https://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/475/builds/341983/downloads

The "test cases" web page for that "Ubuntu MATE 25.10" RC build is available at "Ubuntu MATE Desktop amd64 testcases in Questing Daily | Ubuntu QA" - https://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/475/builds/341983/testcases

I hope you'll also find this interesting ... and a bit more reassuring in regard to "Ubuntu MATE", as I did

This is definitely reassuring – after a previous thread regarding all other Ubuntu flavours submitting betas on time and taking part in a meeting with main Ubuntu, except Ubuntu MATE, I was wondering what the future of this wonderful distribution would be!

Thank you for sharing @ricmarques
