After clicking _ minimize sign I cannot restore the minimized window back to how it was as theres'no the minimized window icon in taskbar, on mate DE ubuntu, this for any window..
How do we solve ?

At first I would do the following:
Try to switch between windows by pressing ALT-TAB to see if it is related to window manager.
If ALT-TAB is working, then the cuplrit is either task manager plugin or mate-panel at all.
I would log out and log in to restart DE, or if there are work in progress preventing log out, open a terminal and invoke "killall mate-panel" to restart panel only.
any knowledge on sudo install..... etc that solved it ?
