I think I must have messed something up when I went into Keyboard Shortcuts and was trying to create a shortcut to launch Google Chrome. I didn’t realize there was the existing shortcut Shift+A for that. So now I can’t capitalize the letter “a”.
I notice on my desktop there is a icon of a disk file with a lower case “a” at the bottom of it.
Would appreciate any suggestions on how to fix this.
You cannot remove your shortcut?

Go back to Keyboard Shortcuts. (System -> Preferences -> Hardware -> Keyboard Shortcuts)
Carefully examine the “Shortcut” column for that Shift+A and click on it (it should change to “New Shortcut” waiting for the command/key-combo).
Type Backspace to clear it.
I just created this myself - I’m a big shortcut user. Does this work for you?
