A picture paints a thousand words...
Also the prominence and choice of text for the “Save Panel Layout” button is worth mentioning as a clear giveaway to how MATE Tweak works.
Good job, @Wimpy!
Fantastic!!! Will these layouts be in the home directory, too? The old single one was in /usr/… owned by root.
Can’t currently store layout in the home directory because mate-panel
has no facility to read layouts anywhere other than the compile time $datadir
.
I just updated 17.10 alpha and there it is! I can verify it stayed perfectly compatible with the single layout I saved before and all works as expected. Thanks again!
I would wish for MATE Tweak to save component settings; such as MATE Dock preferences or Plank themes, but I suppose it’s too large an ask presently to save anything but panel layouts.
It doesn’t save the new panel layout in 17.10 in Mate Tweak in the drop down menu.
