I have an Intel NUC Kit NUC7i5BNH using ubuntu mate 24.04
Sometimes the computer blocks when performing a a suspend or shutdown. Power off is the only solution. Any ideas ?
can you monitor temps? does it get hot?

Possibly an ACPI firmware bug.
Visit the site of the manufacturer and see if there is any firmware (BIOS/UEFI) upgrade available.
Also, sometimes a slightly defective RAM module can trigger such events. I've seen it on both Windows and Linux.
Maybe you find some clues in your bootlog.
If it hangs again on shutdown: reboot , login , open terminal and type: journalctl -b -1 |tail -n30
you can copy/paste the output here. There is a slight chance we might discover something.
Difficult to tell if it is resolved or not since it happens only sometimes, but I think I resolved it by installing wsdd.
