Has anyone had a problem with corrupt video after resuming from their computer being suspended? I had put my PC into suspend mode and the next morning when I resumed it from suspend the desktop and everything else was all corrupted and I could not read most of what was on the screen and had to do a reboot, could not do a log out because I could not read any of the menus on the computer icon that has the option to search or view recent documents or shutdown or log out so I had to use the Shutdown Icon to do a reboot of my PC. This happened one time before when I had Virtual Box running but I’m not using I had it running this time before I put my PC into Suspend mode.
Hi @daldude,
my tip is not to use suspend but use “Log Out” instead!.
If you ever get stuck in the future, press Ctrl + Alt + F2 and then Ctrl + Alt + Del to reboot!.
Or you can simply try Ctrl + Alt + Del which should log you out but this depends on whether you can see your screen or not at the login window?.
There might be a fix coming?:
I have to agree with Wolfman, it’s better to log out from your machine rather them suspending it because in some cases you cannot bring them out of suspension if left to long
The reason I suspend is so I can turn off the PC when Not in use and not have to wait 2 minutes for it to boot up if I do a shutdown.
It did not happed this time and it in suspend mode for several hours.
It never happed before except when Virtual Box was running. I think if I can log off and back on it fixes the problem, is there a Key combination to log off?
Is the logoff key set!. Then just press enter!.
