After an update to latest Ubuntu 22.04 kernel 5.15.0-119(from Ubuntu 22.04 kernel 5.15.0-117), after I shut down the laptop, it remains with an underline on black screen on top left corner.
I set GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="acpi_osi=Linux" in /etc/default/grub in the past in 22.04 and the shutdown worked then.
update
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="acpi_osi=off" does not fix the issue but generates the same screen on startup.
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="acpi_osi=Windows 2006" same.
Update
Last log from journalctl -v -1 -r from last shutdown is:
I will roll back to previous kernel until this is fixed.
UPDATE
Used this to rollback
But until now I did not see any linux-image-unsigned-5.15.0-119 when I rolled back the kernel in previous years. All I had to do is purge linux-image and linux-headers.
After rolling back to 117 the issue persists. It seems that the main kernel has issue. If I boot in 117 when also 119 is available, then it is shutting down properly...
