Desktop loading problem

I installed UM 18.04 and it was loading like this :

splash screen > black screen > black screen with mouse pointer > desktop and desktop icons get loaded> panels are loaded

My system broke so I had to reinstall 18.04 and now this is what happens :

splash screen > black screen > black screen with mouse pointer >grey screen> everything else loads…

Is this a bug ? Is there a way to fix it ? it annoys me since desktop loading was smooth in my first install…Is there a way to make it load like in the first install ?

Actually…I think it is normal…

I’m guessing that it might be a problem with your GPU driver. Could you post the output of

$ sudo lshw -C display

While posting problems like this, it is very wise to give some hardware information too :blush:
