I’ve just added a comment.
I was testing the capability of adding a new user to this laptop and found the mouse pointer disappeared.
This is a minor annoyance ...........Sequence:
added a normal desktop account
used switch user option on logout button
logged into new user account
changed background, launched ThunderBird, added logout button
switched user again
logged back in as myselt - no mouse pointer was available
Ctrl-Alt_tto launch terminal and enteredsudo init 6
to reboot
I'm not certain exactly for what to search syslog
#####update - logout works!
This topic has another similar report for this issue:
In reading about this disappearing mouse issue someone post raising a terminal an typing ls
- I just tested - found that it returns the mouse pointer as a one time rescue
This doesn’t occur on my other machine
