Dock for minimized windows is almost perfect... but how to separate windows of the same app?

I’m using the Mutiny interface with an otherwise fresh mate 16.04. When I have two windows of, say, Firefox open,it just shows two dots underneath the Firefox icon. But when I click on the icon, I only get one window (which is determined by a setting in Windows Preferences I believe).

I want to be able to be able to click, from the dock (when I have any non-fullscreen app already open) the specific window that I want to open for a given app.

Any tips for doing this? I like the low space that applications take up on the Mutiny dock as opposed to Redmond, so I don’t want to change the icon presentation. I also don’t like the Apple OS interface.

Thanks by the way for responding to all my other questions. I tried to solve this one myself but unsuccessful so far.

It’s probably the same as when using Plank - right click [opposite if you’re left handed]

Hover with the mouse over the application’s icon in the dock and you will see a pop-up where you can select its individual windows.

This dock needs to change its appearance to make things more visible. The ugly pop up to select windows keeps me ~3 seconds there trying to identify the window I’m gonna open.

There is this feature request for adding thumbnail previews, hopefully this can be implemented somewhere down the road.
