Effects of changing useragent

Yahoo mail will no longer work in Seamonkey browsers.

I spoofed mine to show as FF 58 as a fix.

Is that going to affect my getting Seamonkey updates?

I had a similar issue with my bank. I couldn’t use online bill pay with FireFox. But, I used my useragent to show FireFox for Windows and all worked as expected. Maybe just a conspiracy thought, but I don’t understand why certain apps like Yagoo Mail or bank apps intentionally lock out certain browsers or OSs.
