Encryption from Caja

Could there be a plugin for Caja for encrypting, like seahorse-nautilus?

Dunno if there is but you could easily write one with a little scripting knowledge and caja actions

My original post is not too clear. What I meant was, since Caja is a fork of Nautilus, I was wondering if the seahorse-nautilus plugin might then be adaptable for Caja. We already are using Seahorse itself in Ubuntu MATE. Seahorse-nautilus from the repos doesn’t work as-is to give the encrypt option in Caja’s right-click menu.

Should be possible. I’ll take a look.

That’s encouraging. Thank you.

any news? I also would like to know

or if anyone knows of another gpg front end for mate. that would be great

It would be nice to have that feature for caja. Although I’ve been using seahorse-nautilus without issues on ubuntu mate 14.04 (I even had nautilus installed before seahorse-nautilus because furius iso mount also has it as dependency) it also requires file-roller to create compressed files, maybe this one could use engrampa for that purpose.
