I wanted to watch the Fans, since i run games and wanted to optimize Temperature Control. I used Psensors.
The first curve is Borderlands 2, the second Anno 1404. The fans are running low way too fast, heat is still in the System. That was the Problem. You see the baseline is not reached quickly.
Then i ran that on Idle and just plain firefox this morning and i noticed the pattern - every time the CPU goes below a certain usage the Fan kind of just Stops and runs again. Not effective for efficient Temperature control. Start-Stop is not good for the hardware either.
I installed Thinkfan and worked with it, finally got the fans to not run low completely and stop. Now it is constantly transporting heat out of the System which i think is more like Workstations do it. It´s better for the CPU, keeping it cool.
Ran the Test with Borderlands 2 and you see the difference instantly. The CPU is cooled way more efficiently and reaches baseline ~40 Degrees way quicker. The lowest i got was 38 Degrees after 20 Minutes in idle with no programs, just Psensors.
