What happened to the menu bar option on Firefox?
It doesn’t show up in the usual place for enabling.
Is this how you’re trying to do it?
Thanks elcste.
The instructions show a menu bar option, but there was not an option in my Firefox for menu bar.
The way it usually works is to right click on the panel at the top and enable menu bar, but that
option is missing there, too.
I just tried it here and I see the option. A lot of weird Firefox behavior ends up being caused by extensions. Have you tried restarting Firefox in Safe Mode, which temporarily disables all extensions?
What version of Ubuntu MATE and what version of Firefox do you have?
This is 17.10, running in VB, and nothing was done to Firefox.
All update have been applied.
How do I start in Safe Mode?
Fastest way is to go to about:support and it is listed there.
But I have a new idea: what panel layout are you using from MATE Tweak? I just tried Mutiny, which uses the global menu bar, and in that case the Firefox menu option doesn’t show up for me.
Well, after all, it is Halloween !
Mutiny was the problem.
If there is a bug, I will find it.
Thanks for your help.
I think it is intentional, since having the global menu means the menu is already always visible.
You are definitely right about that.
Thanks again.
If you like Mutiny except the global menu, you can always right click the handle to the left of the global menu in the panel, unlock it and remove it. . . .
Thanks, but no thanks.
I just love to see that ribbon menu in the same place on all my apps.
