Firefox will not play Australian ABCTV-Iview

I have loaded the “fresh” player, which overcomes the first problem in that Iview states that Adobe Flash is missing. However it still says “Problem loading file” (and adds “Coarse Language” for the news!). I know it can be made to work… it works on my Mint 17.2 system. How can I make it
work on Ubuntu 16.04.2 using Firefox?

Have you considered that there may be differences of performance due to coding for the different platforms?

My HP works OK ( quad 3.2 GHz)
My Toshiba laptop works OK (dual 2.3 GHz)
My RPi fails (quad 1.2 Ghz).
Not a big difference in the last two!
The ABC pride themselves on not being
resource hungry.
The reason I think, is that Adobe Flash is
the Mint repos, but not the Ubuntu ones.

Mint Linux 17.2 has “adobe-flashplugin 1:20170808.1-0-0ubuntu0.16.04.1” in its repos.
From the “16.04.1” suffix I would expect it to be in Ubuntu 16.04.2 Mate.
How can we get it there?
Firefox complains about loading “libpepflashplayer.so”
cheers

I’M using 16.04 firefox on a emachines 528, ABC iview seems to work OK, except for the tinny sound out of the laptop. But I’m not using adobe or fresh. How do I check which flash player I’m using?

The ABC state you must be running Flash. Apparently Adobe & Linux are not
friends, so Fresh is supposed to be an alternative.
Check if “/usr/lib/adobe-flashplugin” exists.

No, adobe isn’t there. I’ve done a search of the file system for “adobe-flashplugin” and it comes back with 0 files found.
