Focus problems when opening new App or clicking on window header to bring it to the top

Hi,

Since install 22.04LTS I'm having a lot of problems with focus and often end up typing in the wrong window. Somethings changed with this release but I don't know what and don't know how to fix it.

One example is opening a MATE terminal window and when I start typing the keystrokes go to the web browser chat that I was on even though the terminal window is in on top of the web browser window.

I really haven't been able to work out if there is any logic behind which window gets the focus.

Any help would be appreciated.

start a terminal, mate-window-properties, click the first, "Select windows when mouse moves over"
