Freeze package upgrade

Hello community,

Sometimes is necessary to block packages updates for preserve specific versions. Easy and quick way to do it is through synaptic. Then when update by terminal or Software updater, this is respected and NOT listed like if do not exist. Good, but when upgrade, this blocked packages upgrade automatically. How is possible to freeze this packages upgrade, that is, without list it in terminal when sudo apt upgrade? Force version in synaptic seems also to fail.

I believe that the command you are looking for is

sudo apt-mark hold <some package>

Great! Exactly what I need!
I think other way is, for external ppa packages, directly delete or uncheck ppa and keys on Software and updates, but looks quite radical and isolated.
