From connection to boot problem

Please help a newbie, here
I installed UM 17.04 on a new Kingston SSD (480G) about a month ago.
Everything has been fine expect for a few tweeks
My Ethernet connection has been fine right of the boot…
then yesterday, after about half a day on suspend (which it was every day), the connection was off; i.e. with the small 2 screens showing in the top menu…
A re-boot and it was all back to normal.
Did it again tonight, so I reboot…. But no it didn’t…
Been trying to reboot the SSD for the last 2 hours, to no avail.
Now writing this using the USB I used for install.
I know it is a boot and/or bios issue, since the SSD does show under ‘Places” and I can access the data on it (and I’m backed up, no worries. My business and my life is held in the cloud…)
Would it happen that one of you have a direct, simple way to ‘wake up’ the SSD ?
This avoiding the new kid in town that I am to chase the Ubuntu database and the whole web for a solution… and maybe take hours trying some ‘solutions’ that may make it worse ?
Again, thanks in advance. This Community is really ‘kicking’…real problems, real people, real solutions. Better then all those ‘guides’ out there.

Now you won’t believe it… I tried rebooting a few time since the message above… I took a break and did some work using the USB drive
Tried rebooting again and making sure I’d go through the bios to select the right drive (just to be sure not being pushed on the USB). I got an ‘reading error’ page a few times… then suddenly, it did work. The SSD booted.

What can I do to avoid this type of thing to happen again and get my heart bouncing ?

But now I get this Ethernet connection searching for itself again.
