How do I get BBC Iplayer to work on my RPi 2? I just get the message ‘Your device is not currently supported’

BBC wants flash, which isn’t available for ARM. I’ve had luck changing my browser’s user agent to an iPad’s to get non-flash video on the BBC news site on my (Intel/amd64) laptop.

There is also get-iplayer in the repository which is a script to download the programs and then watch with VLC. BBC keep changing things so be prepared to also grab the version from github at https://github.com/get-iplayer/get_iplayer in case the version in the repository doesn’t work.

IPlayer is also available for Kodi, I cannot say whether it works or not as I am outside of the UK!.
