Gksudo removed in ubuntu mate 18.04? Is there an alternative?

Hi All,

After upgrading from 16.04 to 18.04 and trying to run an application as superuser (zenmap) in mate menu no longer launches application as super user when using gksudo.

I went through the forums and and couldn't find a resolution. But I did see this post:

I still need GKSU for a variety of applications. Or, at least, I want it since the alternatives are, for the moment, less than convenient. So, I have found the following solution that works for me. I have not detected any unforeseen issues as of yet (I have been running it for a few days now). But, if you decide to do this for yourself, you must accept full responsibility and so should not execute the following commands if you are unsure what you are doing. Is there any other solutions? If not are there any unforeseen concesquences with doing what was suggested above?

I suggest that you use pkexec. I have a panel launcher with pkexec caja as a replacement for gksudo. Good luck @Daniel_McQuay
