Gnome apps and snaps open terribly slow on 26.04

Hi all,

Since an update a few days ago, gnome apps and snaps open terribly slow on 26.04 (sometimes 20 to 30 seconds). I freshly reinstalled 26.04 from a new daily iso but the problem persisted.

Before I do a bugreport on launchpad I wanted to ask:
Is it just me or do any of you experience the same thing ?

I think I have the problem solved.
After sudo apt purge xdg-desktop-portal, my stinkpad became responsive again :slight_smile:

Not just the apps and snaps

Even the icons take a few seconds to show on the desktop and even the ā€œupdateā€ GUI takes some time to be activated. I tried TKN trickā€¦and it seems to work.

And also, as I said in another post, a ā€˜Scriptable screen readerā€™ system component fails to install

Interesting, wondering where the regression lies - possible in the backend that is (usually) used by MATE: xdg-desktop-portal-gtk.
