I forgot how to bootup and go to the desktop without having to enter a password.
I have a file called "Ubuntu Tips" but could not find anything in it that would help.
Can someone help me?
Thanks.

Autologin is a function of the DM (display manager) or what can also be called the greeter.
What greeter are you using? as that matters.
mate - Auto-login enable on turn on system - Ask Ubuntu maybe useful, but firstly work out what DM you're using, and if you've changed it for your unstated release.
Thanks. I am using UM 24.04.
cat /etc/X11/default-display-manager
/usr/sbin/lightdm
Update:
Using Users and Groups(from your link) , I was able to enable auto-login.
Something else caused a prompt for a password.
I am the only one using my computer.
I would like to never be prompted for a password for anything.
Thanks.
