Google Chrome freezes in UM 18.04

I upgraded to UM 18.04 a few hours ago and I noticed that Google Chrome froze a lot while loading pages. It becomes unresponsive and after a while I get a dialog box asking if I want to force close it. It seems random, doesn’t happen on specific pages. I’ve tried cleaning the cache (from the preferences and also by deleting what’s in ~/.cache) but no change. It worked well on previous versions of UM.

Firefox doesn’t seem to have the same issue.

Has anybody experienced something similar?

I can confirm Google Chrome being unusable in 18.04. It does not start. When it starts it closes immediately thereafter. Reinstall and cache deletion didn’t help.
Chrome worked without problem in 17.10. Firefox works without problems in 18.04. Chromium works without problems in 18.04.

For me, it starts fine, though. It just hangs randomly when loading pages.

Have you tried launching it from the terminal with the command google-chrome-stable to see if there was errors.

I have recently installed Linux Mint XCFE 19 and after installing google chrome it crashes continuously. These are the errors:
$ google-chrome-stable

[5584:5584:0701/003108:ERROR:webgraphicscontext3d_command_buffer_impl.cc(224)] Failed to initialize command buffer.
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

How can these errors be resolved?

Resolved my issue with deleting the whole ~/.config/google-chrome folder.

Afterwards Google Chrome works again.
