Laptop template

Use this template to document laptop compatibility with Ubuntu MATE. Under each component it’s important to include as much information as possible. Note if the device works out of the box and if not, were you able to get it working and describe in detail how you resolved the issue.

Laptop Name

Describe the laptop in the first paragraph, noting its specifications and any interesting features.

I have a Dell 1564 - 64 bit lappy -

Uses legacy bios

Suspend and Hibernation works well, no problems.

Thermal Management - everything works well except overheats if using Google chrome to chromecast video will rise to 99 c then shutdown. (note: this is true for all distros i’ve tried so far.)

Storage - tradition 320 gb Hard drive - no problems.

Intell hd Graphics works well no problems.
Resolution 1366x768

Neworking (no bluetooth)
Ethernet is supported and works well.

Wifi - Broadcom 4312 - needs proprietary Driver found in driver manager. Works great once installed.

Pointing Devices - touchpad too sensitive , usable but touchy, I use an external wireless mouse instead.

Keyboard- works great.
