I’m new to Linux and found this distro just what I was looking for but would like to rid my system of any kind of logging. Can anybody steer me in the right direction for getting rid of it. I’ve searched a few forums but have not found a definitive answer
You only need to uninstall the zeitgeist
(if it is installed) and the zeitgeist-core
packages. The following command on your terminal should do it:
sudo apt purge zeitgeist zeitgeist-core
There’s another related package that you should not uninstall, called libzeitgeist-2.0-0
. This is simply a library package that allows other applications to access zeitgeist functionality (which you have in the meantime removed). Nautilus depends on that library. So leave it.
Thanks for the reply, i`ll give it a try.
Or install Activity Log from Software Boutique (you’ll need to subscribe Welcome to updates first) and simply configure what zeitgeist indexes.
Zeitgeist (engine, daemon, lib) and Synapse launcher are great tools and help for my workflow. Must have, no spyware.
