Horizontal lines on Screen fresh Install

so as mentioned in the title while im browsing , watching or even just moving objects on the desktop i see horizontal lines running through my screen. The lines

Sys>admin> Soft$upda and am using the additional drivers provided by amd (proprietary) i have also tried without those drivers to no avail

info about system :
Release 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) 64-bit
Kernel Linux 4.4.0-24-generic x86_64
MATE 1.12.1
Memory 7.3gb (8gb)
Processor: AMD A6-5200 APU with Radeon™ HD Graphics × 4
Available disk space: 422.2 GB

this is an integrated system: An68N-5200 Biostar MB quad core [email protected] with hd 8400

not sure what else to include but any help would be appreciated

Have you tried tweaking the window manager under System -> Preferences -> Look & Feel -> MATE Tweak -> Windows ?

i have not, but i am about to. i will post with the resluts in about 10 mins

looks like that might have done the trick, i changed the windows manager to compiz (advanced gpu accelerated desktop effect)
i will test it later on with a more detailed video of higher quality.

I con confirm I get this issue (and always have) on my AMD APU. Unless you use a compositing window manager, you’ll get these lines.

AMD are not very supportive of GNU/Linux so this is really the only solution.
