I went here for help.
I did not know exactly what to put in the search box.
I would like to make that bar with duckduckgo, ubuntu-mate etc. to be narrower so I can put sites "up there with the other guys.)

I found one old thread. Not sure if it is still relevant or not.
Thanks GeekBone. This is filler for the 20 character minimum post.
I'm not sure, but I think that is related to two parameters that can be adjusted in "about:config" mode:
browser.tabs.tabClipWidth (default 140)
browser.tabs.tabMinWidth (default 75)
There is an old discussion about customizing the Tabs toolbar available here:
There is also another old page offering a compiled summary explaining the purpose and settings for Tab-related config parameters here:
I just stumbled accross a possibly undocumented feature of the Firefox Browser's handling of Tabs for displayed pages.
I recorded a brief video for that.
Snapshot before "collapsing":
If you click and hold on the Tab for an open web page, then drag that Tab so that the cursor is at the far left edge of the browser, with the cursor over the "site-specific icon", then release the mouse, the Tab will "collapse" to display only that icon!!!
Snapshot of tabs "collapsed":
To reverse the process, simply click and hold on any of those "collapsed" tabs, then drag until the cursor is in "unused space" on that Tab bar, then release the cursor, the Tab will be restored to its "Expanded" view with its Page Title visible.

Thanks Eric.
I will study it.
I found a way to fit more websites on the bookmarks toolbar.
I made Ubuntu-Mate into UM.
Andy, I am curious as to how to were able to set the "label" on each tab to be variable-length.
Pray tell, how did you manage that?
Thank you, Andy. I made a mistake, and did not fully realize what I was looking at. I thought that was the open pages tab, but it wasn't. It was only the toolbar with bookmarks, but displayed horizontally instead of viewed in a sidebar, which is what I prefer.
I was hoping you I was looking at the bar showing the tabs of open pages, and make those labels more compact! No such luck, I guess.
Thanks again!

You are most welcome Eric.
