How can I turn off orca screen reader?

I have turned on orca screen reader and now I can not turn it off.
Dose anyone know how to turn it off?

You might try turning it off in startup applications
From menu System> Preferences > Personal > Startup Applications
uncheck orca

Type killall orca in your terminal or in alt F2.

sudo apt-get purge orca

@DIgo Though not spelled out for the casual user, you can turn off the Orca Screen Reader by clicking it again. Applications–> Universal Access–> Screen Reader should do it.

Thanks it works well after I restarted my pc!

Thanks, the CLI worked best for me. Accidentally switched it on instead of Screen Recorder, thought I was going mad ...
