How do I add the gnome-terminal in the Mate menu

I have install the gnome-terminal in my Ubuntu Mate. But I can’t see the gnome-terminal anywhere in the Mate menu. When in installed Konsole, I can see in the menu, but not the gnome-terminal. How do I add it to the menu? Please help.

Hi @cosmicmarshall, You can edit your menu in the app called: Main Menu.

I put it in Accessories with + New Item. The terminal icon will fill-in when the whole command is typed out.

Now some purely extra info...

So why didn't it appear automatically? Installed files includes these two:

/usr/share/applications/gnome-terminal.desktop
/usr/share/applications/org.gnome.Terminal.desktop

This is the usual way menu items get added. I have no idea why there are two but both have this inside them:

OnlyShowIn=GNOME;Unity;

While I think this is the cause I don't understand this reasoning.
