How do I install Adobe Reader?

How do I install Adobe Reader on MATE Release 16.04.3 LTS (Xenial Xerus) 64-bit ?

Thanks

You can install an older (2013) but quite functional version of Adobe Reader by downloading the .deb file from here -

ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/unix/9.x/9.5.5/enu/AdbeRdr9.5.5-1_i386linux_enu.deb

Use Gdebi to install it. You can read the Adobe help page here -

Good luck daldude.

Hallo daldude

I was wondering why you need Adobe Reader.

Question
What features do you require that are not available in Atril (the pdf-Reader included in Ubuntu-Mate)?

Someone may be able to suggest a FOSS program that you could use instead, if you so wish.

When using Ubuntu 12.04 I used Adobe Reader as some pages did not display properly using the Ubuntu default viewer. With 16.04 Mate, I have not had any issue with Atril Document Viewer. I do have Master PDF Editor to edit my documents.

I like to use Adobe because it’s print outs have better looking color print outs then Atril and Document Viewer on my Brother MFC-L8850CDW for some reason the print outs color is washed out and it’s only happens on the Brother Printer because when I had a HP Color Laser Printer all color print outs look good from any program.

It is NOT FOSS but PDF Studio 12 works quite well

Hallo

Have you tried “Okular”?
