How high can I set my volume without burning out my speakers

I use VLC to jam out etc. Especially when I am outdoors.

I do not have the manual, but is a Logitech that has a sub-woofer and 2 speakers.

I do not want to crank the volume up and burn out the speakers.

Is there a way to know how high I can set it too?

I do not know how that picture got turned around? Maybe Pre_Alzheimers.

Manual says that it is a Total RMS 25 W rating ... and that it plugs into a 3.5 mm stereo headphone socket. Since it has its own power supply cord for 120V/60Hz, that implies it has its own internal "signal" amplifier.

The above page indicates that the unit has its own "power and volume control pod", so presumably the setting on the computer side can be at max, but I would make sure the setting on the "pod" is set to lowest value before cranking up the computer's output setting.

To be on the safe side and avoid "clipping" which would destroy speakers, I recommend

  • if using the headphone setting, keeping your default set to 50%, or
  • if using the line out setting, using the 100% setting.

Thanks. Here is a pic of what you mentioned.

I had it set to high.

And cranked to hi in VLC.

I could hear pretty well at about 30 feet from my house.

So I dialed it down on the Logitech volume control.

I like that it has an output for headphones and earbuds.
