How to configure the cursor's color in Caja?

Hello

I'm using the gtk2 theme Dark-Olympic, but there is a little problem bothering me.

When I try to rename file in Caja, the cursor is invisible, just like the picture below:

rename-issue

you will see nothing in the input box except the file name, but in fact, the cursor is behind the word name1.

Sometimes, I can see the cursor with very light color, and it just work fine with arrow keys and input method.

So, how can I configure the color of the cursor?

thank you.

I've changed the cursor theme in the System -> Control Center -> Appearance.

the cursor theme has been changed indeed, but whichever theme applied, the cursor in caja, when trying to rename file, is still invisible.

add some detail about this topic.

If the theme in System -> Control Center -> Appearance has been changed to some light-color one, like the default theme, the cursor in Caja (when renaming file) will be visible.

when the theme is Dark-Olympic, the cursor wont be seen whichever the cursor theme is set.

and i browse the assets of one cursor theme named DMZ_Black which is the default cursor theme in Dark-Olympic, there is no cursor in the rename-file input box in the assets.

so i think this issue is about Caja rather than mouse pointer theme.

does Caja itself draw the cursor?

have you think maybe your cursor is shy? face-laugh

I am not certain how the mouse cursor is drawn, but I am compelled to believe it is part of the MATE desktop itself. I know from previous experience however, that Compiz draws the cursor when using that as the compositor on certain applications, so if you are using that you have to change your cursor theme using CCSM.

Personally, if you are doing this, I would recommend using update-alternatives and symbolically linking /etc/alternatives/x-cursor-theme to a directory in /usr/share/themes and using whatever update-alternatives has defined for x-cursor-theme everywhere. I wrote on this very forum here about that.
