Sir i reinstalled it but no success..it's still not responding...
i can't see any other way...kindly help.

Perhaps someone will come up with a solution to your problem later. I can't think of any other fixes. Sorry!

Thank you Sir @mdooley . The second link helped. Here the solution is
"~$ sudo apt-get update --fix-missing". I just ran it in the terminal and it rectified everything. you are awesome...rather i say you both @24601 & @mdooley are awesome.
