How -to-install Tutanota's Desktop client on UbuntuMate

Trying to integrate Tutanota's desktop client into the MATE OS turned out to be really quite easy after just a little research.
The process requires three steps;-

  1. Download AppImageLauncher from https://github.com/TheAssassin/AppImageLauncher/releases/download/v2.2.0/appimagelauncher_2.2.0-travis995.0f91801.bionic_amd64.deb

and open it in Debian Packages Installer (GDebi) where it will be installed in Applications>Accessories.

  2. Download the Tutanota Appimage from the main page - https://tutanota.com/.

  3. Open Tutanota's appimage with AppImagelauncher, which will install it in Applications>Internet, and "Robert is your mother's brother".

Welcome to Ubuntu MATE community, @muebles !

Also it should be noted that Tutanota is also available as Flatpak.

So installable as follows:

# sudo add-apt-repository ppa:flatpak/stable # for 16.04 LTS, 18.04 LTS, 20.04 LTS
sudo apt update
sudo apt install flatpak
flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo
flatpak install flathub com.tutanota.Tutanota

and this will allows its automatic updates.

Much obliged,
hopefully future researchers will spend less time as a consequence of these efforts .
